Description
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a rapidly growing global health burden, and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) is the most serious stage. Hemodialysis as treatment for final ESRD patients, easily leads to anemia, and the use of Erythropoiesis-Stimulating Agent (ESA) that improves anemia should be added in the iron, but there is a risk of iron overload. The damage of small blood vessels in the brain tissue is still under study, which is important for the clinical development of the dialysis program. This article mainly reviews the effects of chronic kidney disease on the brain function and structure, and the progress of related MRI technology. (authors)
