Polarized D-beams at the cooler synchrotron COSY/Julich

Description

The polarized ion source at the COSY facility in the research center Julich, Germany, delivered for first experiments polarized deuterons. Some of the developments for the delivery of vector and tensor-polarized deuterons are presented. For polarized protons injected into COSY a new record for polarization of 0.914+/-0.022 was achieved. Five different states of deuteron beams with up to 0.764+/-0.036 vector polarization were delivered for an experiment studying spin manipulation in synchrotrons
