Study of a polycrystalline cobalt superficial oxidation by means of ionizing threshold spectroscopy

Description
The results obtained in relation to the stages of polycrystalline cobalt superficial oxidation by exposition to an oxygen atmosphere, the empty states densities and the distance between neighbour atoms on the surface agree with those obtained by other more-advanced techniques. Following the shift in the ionizing threshold energy, the stages of the oxidation process -process which could not have been followed by this technique up to now- are detected. (Author)

Los resultados obtenidos referentes a las etapas de oxidacion superficial de cobalto policristalino por exposicion a una atmosfera de oxigeno, la densidad de estados desocupados y la distancia entre atomos vecinos en la superficie guardan una concordancia con los obtenidos por otras tecnicas mas avanzadas. Mediante el seguimiento del corrimiento de energia del umbral de ionizacion se detectaron las etapas del proceso de oxidacion, proceso que no habia podido ser seguido por esa tecnica hasta el momento.
