Description
The NPP Philipsburg-2 has violated existing safety requirements for 32 years: Due to the bolt breaks in ventilation channels four safety injection systems could fail in case of an incident. The NPP was built deviating from the design with respect to the safety against strong vibrations. A rather earth quake or military aircraft crash could trigger a severe accident. Further safety deficiencies concern insulating materials in the sump, insufficient cooling water levels during start-up and fire prevention.
