Electrocapillary behaviour of tin at different faces f monocrystal oZrO2-Y2O3 sold electrolyte
- 1. AN SSSR, Sverdlovsk. Inst. Ehlektrokhimii
Description
The method of measuring the electric conductivity of a system versus the liquid electrode potential was used for investigation into the surface properties of the boundary of liquid tin contacting with the (100), (110) and (111) faces of a monocrystal of the 0.90ZrO2+0.10Y2O3 solid electrolyte. Two maximums of free capillary energy (FCE) were revealed in the wet hydrogen atmosphere at 700 deg C for all the investigated faces, and one maximum - in the dry helium atmosphere. The effect of the monocrystal face index of the solid electrolyte, the nature of liquid metal and gaseous phase composition on the value of the FCE maximum potential was considered
