Micro-particle acceleration by the Van de Graaff accelerator at high-fluence irradiation facility, University of Tokyo

Description
The study on cosmic dust is a clue to the investigation of origins of the solar system and the universe. Trials of the real time measurement of cosmic dust have been made using instruments loaded on space probes. For developing the instruments to be loaded on the space probe, calibration experiments on the earth are indispensable. Acceleration of micro-particle has been conducted at the Van de Graaff accelerator at University of Tokyo to simulate the space dust which is flying with a speed of 100 km/second. The instruments related to be micro-particle acceleration are described. (author)
