The EPR, an explosive technology
Creators
Description
This (anonymous) paper states that Areva's EPR is a nuclear reactor that is inoperable without an important safety deficit. The reactor is not consistent with the safety report concerning the rod drop procedure in case of a serious accident; the equipment is not certified for accidents leading to more than one percent of broken fuel pencils. However, a corium catcher is supposed to be able to collect at 100 percent the molten core. In spite of major modifications (realized without any transparency) on the control procedure, EDF is going to take inconsiderate risks in order to make its investment profitable
