Physical characteristics of direct-charge detectors

Description

The physical characteristics were studied of direct-charge detectors designed for gamma and neutron measurements. The relationships are discussed between the accumulated charge and the form, material and thickness of the electrodes and their spacing. The influence of space charge on the upper limits of measurenent is dealt with. Computer results of detector sensitivity calculations are given. Various aspects of the application of direct-charge detectors are discussed
