Quantum limited ac-biased SQUID magnetometer

  • 1. Sussex Univ., Brighton (UK). School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences

Description

The improvement in flux sensitivity in ac 'hysteretic' SQUID magnetometers has led to the development of magnetometers operating between 0.4 and 10 GHz. We report on 430 MHz magnetometer with almost quantum limited sensitivity. This magnetometer is based on a 2-hole niobium point contact SQUID ring. (orig./WRI)
