Intrapulmonary distribution of 239PuO2 particles inhaled by Beagle dogs

Description
Beagle dogs were exposed by inhalation to a monodisperse aerosol of 2.8 μm aerodynamic diameter 239PuO2. The distribution of particles was studied at 8, 64, 128 and 365 days after inhalation exposure. The particles were relatively clumped at most times after exposure. Particles were deposited preferentially in the central regions of the lung and moved toward the periphery during the time studied
