Quality assurance in X-ray diagnosis - a cost-saving measure of radiological hygiene

Description
The ICRP has set up the ALARA principle to form the basis of any rulings concerning the protection from radiation. In this contribution, a number of examples are given as an object lesson to demonstrate how radiation exposure of the patients can be reduced to a large extent by resorting to relatively unsophicated methods. The easiest and most efficient solution to this problem lies in an adequate processing of the X-ray photos taken. (DG)

Die ICRP hat als Grundsatz des Strahlenschutzes das ALARA-Prinzip aufgestellt. Der Beitrag zeigt anhand praktischer Vorschlaege, dass die Strahlenexposition des Patienten mit vergleichsweise niedrigem Aufwand wesentlich gesenkt werden kann. Die einfachste und effektivste Methode zur Reduzierung der Patientendosis ist hierbei die Optimierung der Filmverarbeitung. (DG)Additional details
