Protective coatings produced in vacuum by the ion plating method

Description
Considered are the features of the ion precipitation process, equipment and technology used for protective coatings. The coating installations, as well as conditions of ion precipitation from various metal coatings, alloys and dielectrics are described. The influence of substrate geometry and degree of metal vapour ionization on coating properties is also discussed. Data are cited on the structure, porosity, corrosion and mechanical properties of ionic coatings and their principal fields of application
