Description
The papers presented at this conference highlighted the changes within British Columbia's electricity industry. Topics of discussion ranged from implementation of the New Energy Policy, reregulation of BC Hydro, British Columbia/Alberta interties, managing energy costs, protecting consumer interests, energy industry reform, open transmission access and distribution, electricity price volatility, technology utilization to manage risk, and electricity supply to Vancouver Island. The natural gas strategy for Vancouver Island compared to a low emission and renewable energy alternative was also discussed along with lessons learned from other jurisdictions.
