Summary report on VVER safety conference, Prague, September 21-23, 1995
Description
The International Topical Meeting on VVER Safety was organized by the European Nuclear Society, the Czech Nuclear Society, and the Slovak Nuclear Society in cooperation with the American Nuclear Society. The conference was divided into the following sessions: National Programmes for VVER Upgrading; Safety Enhancement and Analyses; Components Integrity and Containment; and Operational Safety. The sessions were complemented with appropriate poster presentations. The Meeting comprised 150 contributions by experts from the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Russia, Slovakia, the UK, the Ukraine, and the USA. Programmes for VVER upgrading involved extensive activities by international organizations such as the IAEA and WANO. (P.A.)
