Oxide-based intercalation compounds for organic electrolyte rechargeable lithium cells
Creators
- 1. SAFT, Rue Georges Leclanche, Poitiers (France)
Description
Research carried out on lithium rechargeable cells using an organic electrolyte and intercalation compounds has led SAFT to investigate metal oxides such as V/sub 2/O/sub 5/, MoO/sub 3/ and MoV/sub 2/O/sub 8/ as possible cathode materials. Both V/sub 2/O/sub 5/ and MoV/sub 2/O/sub 8/ show interesting results but V/sub 2/O/sub 5/ demonstrates superior energy figures (9O Wh/kg, 175 Wh/l) in preliminary development C cells from which 5O deep cycles were obtained
