Synthesis and investigation of NH4[UO2(CH3COO)3]

Description

Using different techniques synthesis of ammonium triacetatouranylate which individuality is supported by results of element analysis and X-ray phase investigation is carried out. IR spectra are considered and thermal properties of NH4*UO2(CH3COO)3 are studied. Thermolysis in inert atmosphere runs in 2 stages with the sequent formation of UO2(CH3COO)2 and of nonstoichiometric uranium dioxide containing 0.6-0.7 mol of C per 1 mol UO2. Thermal effect of the first stage is 146+-8 kJ/mol, of the second one - 75+-4 kJ/mol. Basing on these data and also on mass-spectrometric study of stage 1 - removal of CH3COONH4 from initial compound a conclusion is drawn on determination role of ammonium acetate thermal stability in the process of studied complex decompostion
