Description
The quality of radiodiagnostic images is greatly dependent on a wide range of intercorrelated parameters, including examination and equipment-related factors. The main components of image quality (image level, detail contrast, image noise, and spatial degradations) along with the patient exposure were measured and modeled for various settings of the most influential parameters. A global empiric model was established and programmed on a personnel computer. Its main uses can be for room design, quality control, and troubleshooting. Two applications are developed: effect of high voltage ripple on image quality and skin dose, and optimization of magnification
