Study of nature of superplastic flow of beryllium
Description
Contribution of separate mechanisms - diffusion creep and formation of built-in regions to the general berillium deformation was studied using the method of aimed electron-microscopic survey of the sample surface images after different degrees of superplastic deformation. It is shown that the main mechanism of superplastic deformation is slipping along the grain boundaries accomodated by pure diffusion creep and formation of built-in regions. The grain reconstruction is of complex character including Ashby-Verrall and Jifkins model elements
