Polarographic and potentiometric study of Ru(III)-EDTA complexes

  • 1. Osmania Univ., Hyderabad (India). Dept. of Chemistry

Description

Ruthenium(III)-ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid system has been studied polarographically over the pH range 2-10. Waves corresponding to the reduction of Ru(III) to Ru(II) complex appear to be quasi-reversible at pH 4.5 and become irreversible beyond pH 4.5. The diffusion currents are proportional to the height of the mercury reservoir. The stability constants of the Ru(III)-EDTA complexes have been determined by potentiometry. (author)
