High-temperature combustion of fixed boron particle in oxygen-containing media

Description

Combustion of a stationary boron particle has been theoretically analysed in oxygen-containing media at atmospheric pressure for different models of the process under the conditions when temperature of the particle exceeds the boiling point of oxide but is lower than the boiling temperature of boron. The formation of the end product, boron oxide (B2O3), on the particle surface has been considered as well as the formation of intermediates BO, B2O2, and BO2. The region of application of the scheme for high-temperature boron combustion has been determined it is bounded by the equality of the drop temperature to the boiling point of boron oxide and to the boiling point of boron
