Nitrogen determination using the sup(14)N(p,α)sup(11)C reaction at low energies

Description
Nitrogen determination with the sup(14)N(p,α)sup(11)C reaction at 6.81 MeV was performed in organic compounds. Positron annihilation from sup(11)C allowed determination of nitrogen contents as low as 0.35% dried weight. Comparison of these results with those from the standard Kjeldahl method showed a 0.999 linear correlation coefficient. (author)
