Testing asymptotically free quarks
Description
It is shown that asymptotic freedom permits one to calculate not only the hadronic contributions to the photon propagator PHI(q2) in the space-like region, but also the derivatives deltasup(n)PHI(q2)/delta(q2)sup(n). From this is obtained a set of rigorous upper and lower bounds for the integral of sigmasub(h) = sigmasub(e+e-→hadrons) over only experimentally accessible energies, in terms of the masses and charges of quarks.
