Study of celectine deposits using well logging data

  • 1. Nauchno-Proizvodstvennoe Ob''edinenie ''Samarkandgeologiya'' (USSR)

Description

A technique for studying celestine deposits according to well logging data is described. Well logging complex combined gamma and X-ray fluorescence loggings. To correlate the section to geophysical data the gamma logging data were used according to which lithological rock differences were differentiated. Ore body parameters (average content of strontium oxide and thickness) were determined from the results of X-ray fluorescence logging carried out with standard equipment using thulium-170 source and NaI scintillation detector of 18x2 mm size. The equipment provides detection limit for strontium oxide of 0.4 %. To remove the effect of substance composition of containing medium on X-ray fluorescence logging results, the method of spectral ratios was used
