New results on the formation of fission fragment distributions in the diffusion model
Description
The results of calculations of the mass-kinetic energy distributions of fission fragments are reviewed. The calculations are based on the Fokker-Planck equation for the distribution function of most important collective coordinates. The dependence of the model results and the values characterising the dynamics of descent of fissioning nucleus from the saddle point to the scission on the choice of the main dynamical coefficients is investigated. The influence of large angular momentum of the compound nucleus on the mass-kinetic energy distributions of fragments is considered
