Development of the equipment for measuring the internal pressure and collecting the fission gas of the spent fuel rod
Description
The equipment for measuring the internal pressure and collecting the fission gas of PWR spent fuel rod was fabricated in PIEF. This system has the advantage of saving the time which is reached in equilibrium pressure by reducing volume of puncturing chamber and standard chamber as compared with existing system when fission gas is expanded from fuel rod to the chambers, Also the accuracy was improved by using positive pressure in measuring the gas pressure of system. As result of improving the system, the system accuracy appeared to be agreement with in ± 5 % error range in the performance evaluation test using dummy fuel rods
