Exchange current corrections for partial capture rates of muons in nuclei

Description
A calculation is made of exchange current corrections for partial capture rates of muons in 12C, 16O, 32S and 40Ca nuclei. One-pion exchange is taken into account. Adler-Dothan's results are used to obtain the weak pion production amplitude. The nuclear states are described in the Tamm-Dancoff approximation. It is found that the corrections are very erratic and state dependent. A large effect is found for the O+ → O- transitions due to the size of the time part of the axial exchange current. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Fuer die partiellen Myoneneinfangraten in 12C, 16O, 32S und 40Ca werden Austauschstromkorrekturen berechnet. Mit Hilfe der Ergebnisse von Adler und Dothan wird die schwache Amplitude der Pionenproduktion bestimmt. Die Kernzustaende werden im Rahmen der Tamm - Dancoff-Naeherung beschrieben. Es zeigt sich, dass die Korrekturen sehr fehlerhaft und zustandsabhaengig sind. Aufgrund der Groesse der zeitlichen Anteils des axialen Austauschstromes findet man bei den O+ → O--Uebergaengen einen grossen Effekt. (orig.)Additional details
