Description
Objective: To investigate the clinical value of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) SPECT with coincidence in the diagnosis of recurrent or metastatic tumor of colorectal carcinoma. Methods: Thirty-one cases of postoperative patients with colorectal cancer were enrolled in this study with 18F-FDG SPECT with coincidence. The results were analyzed by calculating its accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), 95% confidence interval and compared with US, CT and MRI. Results: In 31 cases of postoperative patients with colorectal cancer in this study, there were 19 positive cases, and 2 false negative cases. There was no false positive case. The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, PPV and NPV were 93.5%, 90.5%, 100%, 100%, 83.3%, respectively, and their 95% confidence interval were 78%-99%, 70%-99%, 69%-100%, 82%-100%, 69%-100%, respectively. The diagnostic accuracy of 18F-FDG SPECT was higher than that of CT and US, and the sensitivity and NPV were significantly higher than that of US. The analysis of 95% confidence interval showed a higher tendency in 18F-FDG SPECT than in US, CT and MRI. Conclusion: 18F-FDG SPECT has high clinical value in the diagnosis of recurrent or metastatic tumor of colorectal carcinoma. (authors)
