Fast neutron-capture cross section measurements of Nd and Sm
- 1. Sichuan Univ., Chengdu (China). Inst. of Nuclear Science and Technology
Description
The fast neutron-capture cross sections of elemental neodymium and samarium were measured in energy range of 0.34 - 1.68 MeV relative to the standard capture cross section of gold. The T (p, n)3He reaction was used as neutron source and the primary proton beam was accelerated, pulsed and bunched by 2.5 MeV Van be Graaff. A large liquid scintillation detector (680 liter) and time-of-flight technique were used
