Evidence of intermittent fluctuations of relativistic charged particles produced in 32S-AgBr interactions at 200 AGeV

Description

An attempt has been made to investigate some observations on intermittency of the multiplicity distributions of relativistic shower particles produced in 32S-AgBr interactions at 200 A GeV in the pseudorapidity phase space using the method of scaled factorial moments (SFMs), Fq. The Fq moments have been calculated in terms of new-scaled variable X(η) which reduces the distortion appreciably. The experimental results have been compared with those obtained by analyzing events generated with the computer code FRITIOF based on Lund Monte Carlo model for high energy nucleus-nucleus interaction. A large sample of 5000 32S-AgBr events has been generated using the code, where the proportional abundance of different categories of target nuclei present in the emulsion material has been taken into account. To filter out the statistical contribution from the experimental observations, uncorrelated Monte Carlo events, (MC-RAND) were generated randomly in η-space based on the assumption of independent emission of particles and has been compared with the experimental and FRITIOF data
