Description

The deexcitation of the 8.6 μs isomer of 3999Y has been studied using γ-ray spectroscopy techniques at LOHENGRIN and JOSEF. The resultant level scheme is analyzed within the framework of the particle-rotor coupling model. The ground-state band, to spin 19/2+, is found to have band properties consistent with a π[422 5/2] Nilsson assignment. The 8.6 μs isomer and a side band with a band-head half-life of 1.4 ns are found to have Jsup(π) values of 17+/2 and 11+/2, respectively. Their properties are consistent with a [π[422 5/2]ν[411 3/2]ν[404 9/2]] assignment. Some evidence is given for the dominance of the νν interaction over the πν interaction in these three-quasiparticle partners. (orig.)
