Optimization parameters for determination electrodeposition process isotopes 235U and 239Pu in PEB U3Si2/Al post irradiated

Description
Has done electrodeposition process parameter optimization isotope 235U in the standard solution U3O8 and isotopes 235U and 239Pu in fuel element plate (PEB) U3Si2/Al post-irradiation. Electrodeposition process is carried out in an electrolyte medium 1 M ammonium sulphate pH 3.5 and heavy isotopes 235U and 239Pu analyzed by alpha spectrometry methods. The research objective is to obtain optimum parameters electrodeposition process with current variation, timing and volume of feed as well as determine the content of heavy isotopes 235U and 239Pu from the result of condensation of PEB U3Si2/Al post-irradiation. Electrodeposition process carried out by the current variation of 1.2 and 2.0 ampere with a variation of 1.5; 2.0; 2.5 and 3.0 hours as well as the volume of feed 300; 500; 700 mL for the standard U3O8, but the volume of feed for PEB solution U3Si2/Al post-irradiation ranging from 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 and 500 mL. The results showed that the optimum conditions for the electro deposition process is obtained with a current of 1.2 amperes with processing time for 2 hours and the amount of feed volume of 300 mL for the standard U3O8. Heavy deposition electrodeposition hashish obtained isotope 235U of 2,314 g with the percentage of precipitation (recovery) of 99.91 %. Heavy sediment 235U isotope in solution PEB U3Si2/Al postirradiation on the feed volume of 50 to 500 mL of the results obtained with a recovery of 91.80 %, by weight where as precipitate obtained isotope 239Pu in succession 9.9 x10-05; 2.6x10-04; 8x10-04; 5.6x10-04; 6.5x10-04; 1.0x10-03 and 1.4x10-03 g. From the results, it otherwise that good enough electrodeposition method used to determine the particular alpha emitting isotopes 235U and 239Pu isotope in solution PEB U3Si2/Al post-irradiation.
