Radiation dosimetry for krypton-81m

Description
Calculations have been made of the absorbed radiation doses to heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, ovaries, testicles and whole body following administration of sup(81m)Kr. The sup(81m)Kr minigenerator and delivery system administers the radionuclide continuously at a constant rate over a period of time, and the calculations took into account the mode of administration, half-life and radiation spread. The radiation doses from sup(81m)Kr administration are shown to be far less than those associated with common clinical forms of sup(99m)Tc. (U.K.)
