Exoemission. Chemical aspect
Description
Results of studies of exo-emission using various methods of excitation have been considered from the standpoint of chemical transformations on the surface of solids. Prospects of use of exo-emission in scientific research and for technological purposes have been discussed. The most probable energy of electrons for post-emission from BeO caused by electron bombardment is 0.1 eV. For thermostimulated emission from seramic specimens of BeO average values of energy of exo-electrons were 0.5 eV. At the present time it is stated that in the case of substances of various types-metals, semiconductors, and insulators-emission occurs not only as a result of adsorption but accompanies desorption processes
