Parametric instability due to a low frequency whistler wave
Description
A parametric instability is shown to exist in the presence of a low frequency (Ωsub(ci) approx. ω0 < Ωsub(ce)), finite amplitude, right hand circularly polarized wave. An expression for the growth rate and threshold is derived. (orig.)
