Energy economics aspects of entry into the solar energy economy

After an examination of the short-term economic effects of an immediate entry, the problems of long-term forecasts for the future are explained. New studies on the question of energy production costs and energy use are quoted and discussed. This is followed by a calculation of the medium- and long-term costs to be expected. The next section is concerned with economic measures and effects of rational energy use and the use of solar energy (examples: wind energy and photovoltaic cells). Finally, there is a summary and synthesis of the results. (UA)
