EuzFe4Sb12 studied by 57Fe Moessbauer spectroscopy

Description
Magnetic and 57Fe Moessbauer measurements on EuzFe4Sb12 skutterudites favour a statistical distribution of Eu and voids in the Fe near neighbour shell. For the possible Fe configurations the induced hyperfine fields at 4.2 K are negative, as expected for ferromagnetically ordered compounds, but are much too small to explain directly the large effective Fe moments measured at higher temperatures
