Experimental study on heat transfer around a circular cylinder in liquid lead-bismuth crossflow

  • 1. Central Research Inst. of Electric Power Industry, Tokyo (Japan)

Description

An experimental study was performed to clarify the heat transfer performance of liquid Lead-Bismuth flowing across a circular cylinder. Experiments covered the range of Reynolds Numbers from 2500 to 9800. Two electrical heaters of different diameter simulated the heat transfer tube was used in this study. It is revealed that the heat transfer performance of liquid Lead-Bismuth is about 10-20% lower than that of liquid sodium. (author)
