Description
A pulse transmission network is used to transfer the energy required for the operation of RFX from the 400 kV national grid to the machine windings. It consists of an ac section, used to feed 20 ac/dc converter units and to charge several capacitor banks, and of a dc section, which connects the converter terminals and the RFX toroidal and poloidal windings. The main features of the design and of the construction are presented and discussed, together with the results of particular tests carried out on the components of the dc section. 4 refs., 8 figs., 5 tabs
