Description

The range compensators made of plastic have always used in every fractionated irradiation of carbon treatment in National Institute of Radiological Sciences. To reduce production time, the laminated range compensator was newly proposed substitute to the conventional one. We have developed the machine under a new concept to manufacture the compensator automatically, and now several compensators are ready for tests. This machine is capable of processing a new compensator in 40 minutes with an accuracy of ±0.5 mm. In this paper, we have reported the progress of the machine for laminated range compensator and preliminary irradiation tests compared with conventional ones. (author)
