Thermal energy charge transfer reactions: kinetic and internal energy of the products
Description
Non dissociative charge transfer reactions from the 2Psub(3/2) ground state of Ar+, Kr+ and Xe+ with several small molecules have been investigated at near thermal energy. In most of these systems, a substantial kinetic energy release is observed; its measurement allows determination of the internal energy of the products. It is shown that molecular products are usually formed in high vibrational levels of the electronic ground state with a rather narrow vibrational distribution. (Auth.)
