Reactions of free methyl cations with vapors of acetic acid
Description
Ion-molecule reactions of free methyl cations with acetic acid have been studied in the gas phase at various pressures. It was established that the sole products of these reactions were labelled acetic acid methyl ester and methyl alcohol. A mechanism for their formation has been proposed
