Description

Creep and electrical resistance of the niobium - titanium alloy subjected to plastic deformation by drawing are studied at 77 K. It is shown that following high plastic strain (ε > 99.9%), the alloy displays anomalies in the low-temperature creep not observed in lowly and moderately strained samples. The creep rate in the transient stage is higher than that established in the classical concept of low-temperature creep mechanisms (the logarithmic law). The dependence of creep strain is described by the power law, what corresponds to the recovery creep. During the creep there appear oscillations in the ER curves which are most pronounced after drawing in liquid nitrogen. Some possible causes of the effects observed are discussed
