Leaching of radionuclides from particles of nuclear fuel and reactor graphite isolated from the samples of 30 km zone of Chernobyl NPP
Description
Leaching of radinuclides from fuel particle concentrate separate grains of fuel particles and graphite by soil aqueous extractions and using hydrochloric acid solutions with 0.1 and 1 mole/l concentration, is studied. Degree of radionuclide leaching from 0.2-0.4 mm nuclear fuel particles exposed to atmospheric effects during 4 year period, is negligible (about 1%). Micron size fuel particles, as well as, graphite grains contaminated by fuel are very dangerous
