Ionization state of a laser plasma
Description
Ion composition is calculated in the laser plasma on the basis of a deflagration hydrodynamic model of the laser corona for carbon and calcium targets at different densities of the laser radiation flux taking into account the inverse effect of the ionization kinetics on hydrodynamics. It is shown that the ionizatian results in a considerable rise in the slope of the electron temperature profile. The ionization is of the nonsteady-state character; at the distance of the order of a few dozen microns from the target surface the formation of the ion composition is mainly terminated. Calculation results are compared with measurement data on multicharged ion spectra in the far-UV spectral region
