Fluorine-18 or Gallium-68: The Perspective of PET Radiochemist

Description
Two radionuclides, 18F (T1/2 110 min) and 68Ga (T1/2 68 min), currently play the leading role in the development of positron emission tomography (PET). This review compares the nuclear-physical properties of fluorine-18 and gallium-68 and methods for their preparation, and also discusses the advantages and drawbacks of two competing radionuclides in clinical PET studies using the example of the most popular radiopharmaceuticals.

На данном этапе развития позитронно–эмиссионной томографии (ПЭТ) ведущую роль играют два радионуклида - 18F (T1/2 110 мин) и 68Ga (T1/2 68 мин). В представленном обзоре сравниваются ядерно-физические свойства фтора-18 и галлия-68 и методы их получения, а также обсуждаются преимущества и недостатки двух конкурирующих радионуклидов в клинических ПЭТ-исследованиях на примере наиболее популярных радиофармпрепаратов.Additional details
