Preliminary experimental research on high-energy neutron radiography with film

Description
The principle of high-energy neutron radiography lies in that nucleus of hydrogen or other low- Z elements can be recoiled by fast neutrons, and rapidly moving charged particles make the scintillator luminous, hence the distribution of light intensity be recorded in film. Regular steps and irregular steps were radiated for neutron image in this work. The result of preliminary experiment indicated that X-ray film was much easier to get neutron image than ordinary full-color film, and 1 x 10-8 cm-2 neutron flux enough to get a picture. The transverse resolution was finer than 2 mm and depth resolution better than 1 cm. (authors)
