Publication supplementing the regulatory guide on control of low-level radioactive wastes exempted from official collection and disposal

Description

Untreated radioactive wastes, or various interim waste forms of different type, or from various installations or establishments, may be mixed if the following is achieved by this measure: (1) reduction of radiation level, (2) reduction of number of waste forms, (3) improved composition of interim waste forms with regard to further treatment. A summation formula is given for calculating or assessing the comparability of type and amount of wastes destined for further treatment. (orig./HP)

Abstract (German)

Radioaktive Rohabfaelle oder Zwischenprodukte verschiedener Sorten oder Anlagen bzw. Einrichtungen koennen gemischt werden, wenn damit - eine Reduzierung der Strahlenbelastung erreicht werden kann, - die Anzahl herzustellender Abfallgebinde reduziert werden kann, - die Zusammensetzung der Zwischenprodukte im Hinblick auf ihre Verarbeitung verbessert werden kann. Eine Summenformel als Anhaltspunkt fuer die Vergleichbarkeit der Art und Menge der zurueckzuliefernden Abfaelle wird angegeben. (orig./HP)
