A particle simulation code for a high intensity accelerator ring

Description
A computer code to simulate in 6 phase-space dimensions the dynamics of a high intensity particle beam in a circular accelerator is being created as a collaborative effort of two laboratories. The main and immediate purpose of the code is to study in detail the behavior of the 1 GeV proton accumulator ring for the Spallation Neutron Source to be built at Oak Ridge. The structure of the code and some of the basic guidelines are described. copyright 1998 American Institute of Physics
