Gas chromatographic analysis of chemical composition of the Venusatmosphere on the Venera-13 and Venera-14 landing capsules
Description
Preliminary data on gas chromatographic analysis of chemical composition of the Venus atmosphere are given. Investigations were conducted with the use of ''Signam-2'' chromatograph, installed on the ''Venera-13'' and ''Venera-14'' landing capsules. Gas impurities without argon and oxygen separation, as well as sulfides and moisture were investigated by neon channel of the device. Analytic channel with electron capture detector provided for the analysis of the following umpurities: oxygen, halogen-containing compounds, sulfides and moisture. Neon detectors informed about atmosphere composition at heights from 58 down to 29 km and electron capture one - from 58 down to 35 km. Components of the Venus atmosphere - H2, O2, Kr, H2O, H2S, COS and SF6(N2O) - were determined
