Description
The pre-equilibrium (PE) phenomenon has been of wide and increasing interest. This has been used in explaining many types of reactions. Compound nucleus theory in which evaporation of particles takes place after the equilibrium is established is no longer of any interest because it does not satisfy the experimental results. For a better understanding of the PE emission mechanism more and more measurements are necessary. Bearing this in mind, excitation functions for (α, 2n), (α, 3n) and (α, 4n) reactions induced by α-particles on natural rhodium targets have been measured
